Governance

Advertising & Sponsorship Policy

Zeph Tech funds open research with a limited set of clearly disclosed advertising placements and sponsorships. Every placement is vetted against our security, compliance, and editorial safeguards before it ever reaches readers.

This policy was last reviewed on October 14, 2025 and reflects the controls enforced across zephtech.net, newsletters, and syndicated feeds.

Operating principles

Trust, transparency, and separation of duties

Our research team maintains sole control over editorial output. Monetization programs operate behind consent gates and comply with IAB, Google, and regional disclosure standards.

Disclosure and labelling

  • Sponsored units are labelled with rel="sponsored", on-unit badging, and contextual copy that clarifies paid status.
  • All monetized inventory is declared in ads.txt and mirrored in the Zeph Tech Ads.txt Manager roster (Google AdSense publisher ID pub-5720696586394797).
  • Every ad creative is archived with run dates and approvals so compliance teams and regulators can audit historical placement decisions.

Editorial firewalls

  • Sponsors cannot preview, edit, or veto nightly briefings, methodology notes, or roadmap updates.
  • Any co-branded research requires a separate, clearly marked landing page that cites Zeph Tech researchers and the sponsoring organization.
  • Paid placements never override or suppress risk disclosures, vulnerability advisories, or negative coverage involving the sponsor.
Inventory and review

Where ads and sponsorships may appear

We run a lean program: limited leaderboard units managed by Ezoic, optional newsletter placements, and premium research partnerships that undergo security and compliance screening.

Web display

Leaderboard and in-content placements are served via Google AdSense / Ezoic on pages where the consent banner has granted advertising storage.

  • All creatives pass through Ezoic malware and policy scanners before delivery.
  • Refresh thresholds honour Google policy; we do not auto-refresh inventory.
  • Geofenced suppression removes display ads in markets without a recorded consent decision.

Newsletter sponsorships

Nightly email briefings may include a single sponsor module sourced through direct deals.

  • Campaigns require product security documentation, SOC 2/ISO 27001 evidence, and a published vulnerability disclosure program.
  • Copy is drafted by Zeph Tech editors to preserve tone and accuracy; sponsors approve factual statements only.
  • Unsubscribes, complaints, and spam reports are reviewed after every send; problematic campaigns are terminated immediately.

Research partnerships

Multi-week sponsorships fund additional analyst capacity and live briefings.

  • Partners sign data handling addenda covering access control, incident response, and breach notification obligations.
  • Deliverables are published in a dedicated hub with disclosures at the top of every section and in downloadable assets.
  • Engagement retrospectives are shared with sponsors but never gatekeep the public roadmap or changelog.
Privacy and measurement

How we process consent and analytics data

We operate dual analytics: Plausible for aggregated metrics and Google Analytics 4 for granular conversion tracking. Both respect Consent Mode defaults until a reader grants permission.

Consent management

  • Gatekeeper CMP records a consent token and synchronises it with Google Consent Mode v2 before any advertising or GA4 calls execute.
  • Default Consent Mode state sets ad_storage and analytics_storage to denied; only functionality and security storage are granted prior to a decision.
  • Consent choices are stored locally for 180 days and can be reset through the footer “Cookie preferences” control.

Measurement stack

  • Plausible receives anonymous pageview, outbound link, and conversion events scoped to zephtech.net.
  • GA4 (measurement ID supplied via GA4_MEASUREMENT_ID) records hero CTA clicks, newsletter conversions, pillar navigation, and feed engagement events.
  • No IP addresses or user identifiers are stored in Zeph Tech systems; GA4 anonymisation is enforced and advertising data redaction is enabled.
Escalation

How to report an advertising or sponsorship concern

We treat policy breaches seriously. A dedicated escalation rota spans editorial, legal, and security staff.

Response timelines

  • We acknowledge all reports within one business day.
  • Confirmed violations trigger immediate suspension of the impacted campaign while we investigate root causes with the vendor.
  • Post-incident reviews are documented in the public changelog with remediation status and preventive actions.
