G7 digital and technology ministers endorsed a joint declaration committing to risk-based AI governance, technical standards development, and protections for democratic values.
The Carbis Bay ministerial declaration stressed that AI systems must be human-centric, inclusive, and interoperable. Ministers agreed to cooperate on standards through international bodies, support SMEs in deploying trustworthy AI, and address algorithmic bias in the public sector.
