AI Governance Briefing — May 23, 2025
Following the EU AI Act code-of-practice submissions, Zeph Tech is operationalising downstream deployer support, incident routing, and transparency packs for general-purpose AI customers.
Executive briefing: After filing code-of-practice contributions on , Zeph Tech is aligning customer support, documentation, and incident response to the EU AI Act’s upcoming general-purpose AI requirements. Articles 53–56 require providers to supply technical documentation, monitor systemic risks, and cooperate with the EU AI Office and national authorities. We are translating those obligations into service-level commitments for downstream deployers so they can evidence compliance ahead of August 2025 enforcement.
Regulatory checkpoints
- Documentation access. Provide customers with model cards, evaluation summaries, and usage guidelines referenced in the codes of practice.
- Incident routing. Establish channels for deployers to report serious incidents, with escalation to Zeph Tech, the EU AI Office, and national authorities when Article 53 systemic-risk conditions arise.
- Risk notifications. Maintain processes to alert deployers about significant updates, retraining, or mitigations that affect downstream compliance duties.
Operational safeguards
- Integrate support workflows with Zeph Tech’s governance platform so customer tickets referencing safety or rights impacts trigger CAIO review.
- Publish transparency portals that mirror Commission expectations for documentation, ensuring customers can download the same artefacts Zeph Tech shares with regulators.
- Train account teams on EU AI Act terminology, systemic-risk triggers, and evidence formats so advisory sessions stay authoritative.
Next steps
- Run joint tabletop exercises with high-impact customers to rehearse Article 53 notification flows.
- Feed customer feedback into Zeph Tech’s June systemic-risk readiness sprints.
- Track Commission guidance and AI Office feedback on submitted codes to update our support playbooks promptly.
